In the February 19 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 146 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 146 new cases there are 13 in the Far North West zone, 1 in the Far North Central zone, 9 in the Far North East zone, 16 in the North West zone, 26 in the North Central zone, 2 in the North East zone, 32 in the Saskatoon zone, 11 in the Central East zone, and 30 in the Regina zone.

There is 1 new case in the South West zone, 1 in the South Central zone, and 4 in the South East zone.

Two cases with pending residence information have been assigned to the Regina zone (1 from February 13 and 1 from February 14),

That brings the provincial total number of cases of COVID-19 to 27,245, of which 1,582 are considered active.

There are currently 3 active cases in the South West zone.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 157 (12.8 new cases per 100,000 population).

Three Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. One death was reported in the 50-59 age group from the North West zone, one death was reported in the 80+ age group from the Regina zone, and one death was reported in the 70-79 age group from the South Central zone.

That brings the total provincial number of deaths related to COVID-19 to 365.

There were 227 recoveries, bringing that provincial total to 25,298.

There are 172 people in hospital. One hundred and fifty-three people are receiving inpatient care - 4 in the Far North West zone, 1 in the Far North Central zone, 2 in the Far North East zone, 16 in the North West zone, 13 in the North Central zone, 2 in the North East zone, 56 in the Saskatoon zone, 2 in the Central West zone, 9 in the Central East zone, 43 in the Regina zone, 1 in the South  Central zone, and 4 in the South East zone.

There are 19 people in intensive care - 1 in the North West zone, 2 in the North Central zone, 11 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central East zone, and 4 in the Regina zone.

To date, 554,007 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there were 2,724 COVID-19 tests processed.

There were 2,403 COVID-19 vaccine doses administered yesterday in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 53,030.

With Pfizer vaccine shipments arriving this week, Phase One vaccination clinics will resume today and run throughout the weekend to ensure timely administration of the vaccine.

Note that we remain in Phase One of vaccine delivery, targeting residents and staff of long -term and personal -care homes, identified health care providers, residents 70 years and older and residents aged 50 and older in remote/Northern Saskatchewan. Eligible populations will be contacted directly to receive their vaccinations.
