In the February 22 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 177 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 177 new cases, there are 15 in the Far North West zone, 6 in the Far North Central zone, 5 in the Far North East zone, 20 in the North West zone, 7 in the North Central zone, 37 in the Saskatoon zone, 4 in the Central West zone, 11 in the Central East zone, and 48 in the Regina zone.

There is currently 1 new case in the South West zone, 5 in the South Central zone and 3 in the South East zone.

There are 8 cases with pending residence information.

Two cases with pending residence information were assigned to the North West zone.

That brings the provincial total number of COVID-19 cases to 27,797, of which 1,652 are considered active.

There are currently 5 active cases in the South West zone, 3 of those active cases are in the South West subzone 1, and 2 active cases are in the South West subzone 2.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 158 (12.9 new cases per 100,000 population).

There were 195 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 25,773.

There were no deaths related to COVID-19 reported, leaving the provincial total number of deaths at 372.

There are 177 people in hospital. One hundred and sixty-two people are receiving inpatient care - 8 in the Far North West zone, 2  in the Far North Central zone, 2 in the Far North East zone, 15 in the North West zone, 17 in the North Central zone, 2 in the North East zone, 58 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central West zone, 8 in the Central East zone, 42 in the Regina zone, 2 in the South Central zone, and 5 in the South East zone.

There are 15 people in intensive care - 1 in the North West zone, 1 in the North Central zone, 8 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central East zone, and 4 in the Regina zone.

To date, there have been 561,183 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan.

Please note that, like most categories of statistics reported, daily testing numbers include those pending by location as noted in the footnotes daily on the Tests by Region page in the dashboard. Total testing numbers will include tests that are still pending by location; those numbers will not appear in the regional statistics until they are assigned.

There were 920 COVID-19 vaccine doses administered yesterday in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 61,730.

Eighty-one percent of residents in long-term care homes across Saskatchewan have now received one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Forty-three percent have received both their first and second dose and are now fully vaccinated.

Note that we remain in Phase One of vaccine delivery, targeting residents and staff of long-term care and personal-care homes, identified health care providers, residents 70 years and older and residents aged 50 and older in remote/Northern Saskatchewan. Eligible populations will be contacted directly to receive their vaccinations. Registration for appointments for Phase Two sequenced populations will be available when Phase Two commences.
