In the January 22 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 312 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 312 new cases there are 11 in the Far North West zone, 1 in the Far North Central zone, 14 in the Far North East zone, 40 in the North West zone, 39 in the North Central zone, 20 in the North East zone, 88 in the Saskatoon zone, 7 in the Central West zone, 14 in the Central East zone, and 47 in the Regina zone.

There is currently 1 new case in the South West zone, 4 in the South Central zone, and 14 in the South East zone.

There are 12 new cases with pending residence information.

Seven cases with pending residence information have been assigned as follows - 5 to the Far North West zone, 1 to the North Central zone, and 1 to the Saskatoon zone.

Seven previously reported cases have been found to be out of province residents and have been removed from the counts.

That brings the provincial number of COVID-19 cases to 21,643, of which 3,196 are considered active.

There are currently 15 active cases in the South West zone.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 275 (22.7 new cases per 100,000 population).

There is currently one outbreak in the South Central zone. That is at the Assiniboia Union Hospital. In non-household settings, an outbreak is confirmed when two or more people test positive for COVID-19.

There are 203 new recoveries, bringing that provincial total to 18,200.

Eight Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. Six deaths reported from the Regina zone - 1 in the 40-49 age group, 2 in the 60-69 age group, 1 in the 70-79 age group, and 2 in the 80+ age group. One death reported in the 80+ age group  from the Central East zone, and 1 death reported in the 60-69 age group from the Saskatoon zone.

That brings the provincial total number of deaths related to COVID-19 to 247.

One hundred and seventy-seven people are in hospital. There are 147 people receiving inpatient care - 4 in the Far North West zone, 12 in the North West zone, 17 in the North Central zone, 2 in the North East zone, 54 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central West zone, 9 in the Central East zone, and 39 in the Regina zone.

There is currently 1 person receiving inpatient care in the South West zone, 1 in the South Central zone, and 7 in the South East zone.

There are 30 people in intensive care - 2 in the North West zone, 4 in the North Central zone, 14 in the Saskatoon zone, 9 in the Regina zone, and 1 in the South Central zone.

To date, 485,003 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday there were 3,147 COVID-19 tests processed.

As of January 22 there were 1,448 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in Saskatchewan. This brings the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 31,275. Also as of January 22, 96% of the doses received have been administered in Saskatchewan.

Pfizer's February 1 allocation to Saskatchewan has been confirmed to be 5,850 doses.

Moderna shipments are expected for February 1 (6,500 doses.)
