In the January 26 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority, they are reporting a total number of 232 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 232 new cases there are 23 in the Far North West zone, 3 in the Far North Central zone, 4 in the Far North East zone, 45 in the North West zone, 31 in the North Central zone, 7 in the North East zone, 47 in the Saskatoon zone, 3 in the Central West zone, 46 in the Regina zone, 2 in the South Central zone, and 6 in the South East zone.

There are 11 new cases with pending residence information.

Three cases with pending residence information were assigned as follows - 1 to the Far North East zone, 1 to the Far North West zone, and 1 to the North Central zone.

Two previously reported cases were deemed to be out of province and removed from the count for the Far North West zone and pending category.

That brings the total number of COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan to 22,646, of which 2,665 cases are considered active.

There are currently 14 active cases in the South West zone.

In the South West 1 zone, which includes the area around Frontier, Eastend, Shaunavon, Gull Lake, and Maple Creek there are 4 active cases, and in the South West 2 zone, which is the Swift Current area, there are 10 active cases.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 254 (20.7 new cases per 100,000 population).

There is an outbreak status reported in the South Central zone at The Assiniboia Union Hospital. In non-household settings, an outbreak is confirmed when two or more people test positive for COVID-19.

There have been 839 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 19,729.

Fourteen Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. One reported death in the 40-49 age group from the North Central zone, 2 reported deaths in the 50-59 age  group from the Regina and Saskatoon zones, 2 reported deaths in to 60-69 age group from the Saskatoon zone, 3 reported deaths in the 70-79 age group from The Regina, Saskatoon and South East zones, and six reported deaths in the 80+ age group from the Far North West zone, the North Central zone, the Regina zone, the South East zone, and the Saskatoon zone.

That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 268.

There are 208 people in hospital. One hundred and seventy-five are receiving inpatient care - 5 in the Far North West zone, 15 in the North West zone, 28 in the North Central zone, 2 in the North East zone, 73 in the Saskatoon zone, 2 in the Central West zone, 8 in the Central East zone, and 36 in the Regina zone.

There is currently 1 person receiving inpatient care in the South West zone and 1 in the South Central zone.

There are 33 people in intensive care - 2 in the North West zone, 2 in the North Central zone, 15 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central East zone, and 11 in the Regina zone.

There is currently 1 person in intensive care in the South West zone, and 1 in the South Central zone.

To date, 495,292 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday there were 2,160 COVID-19 tests processed.

There were 362 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered yesterday in Saskatchewan-this brings the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 34,080.

As of January 25, 104% of the doses received have been administered. This overage is due to efficiencies in drawing extra doses from vials of vaccine received.
