In the July 20 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 22 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 22 new cases there are 14 in the Far North West zone, 3 in the Far North East zone, 2 in the North West zone, 2 in the Saskatoon zone, and 1 case is pending residence information.

One case with pending residence information has been reassigned to the Central East zone.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 49,472, of which 242 are considered active.

There are 5 active cases in the South West zone - 1 in the South West subzone 1, and 4 in the South West subzone 2.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 25 (2.1 new cases per 100,000 population).

No new deaths were reported, leaving the provincial total number of deaths at 575.

There are 42 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 48,655.

There are 55 people in the hospital. Forty-five people are receiving inpatient care - 4 in the North West zone, 7 in the North Central zone, 18 in the Saskatoon zone, 14 in the Regina zone, 1 in the South Central zone, and 1 in the South East zone.

There are 10 people in intensive care - 1 in the North West zone, 1 in the North Central zone, 5 in the Saskatoon zone, and 3 in the Regina zone.

To date, there as been 945,617 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there were 1,151 COVID-19 tests processed.

There are 154 new lineage results reported for variants of concern. 

Of the 7,961 variants of concern cases with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in the province, 7,027 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 505 are Delta (B.1.617.2), 419 are Gamma (P.1), and 10 are Beta (B.1.351).

An additional 2,636 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number administered to 1,353,307.

Of those 2,636 vaccine doses given, there were 17 administered in the South West zone.

Seventy-four percent of those over 12 have received their first vaccine dose, and 59% of those over 12 are fully vaccinated.

Pfizer shipments have resumed and Saskatchewan will receive record high doses through the end of July.

Over 97,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine were received this week with more than 180,000 expected over the next 2 weeks.

The shipments are provided to pharmacies and SHA clinics across the province.
