In the July 28 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 50 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 50 new cases there are 10 in the Far North West zone, 8 in the Far North Central zone, 1 in the North West zone, 2 in the North Central zone, 1 in the North East zone, 13 in the Saskatoon zone, 3 in the Central East zone, 7 in the Regina zone, 1 in the South Central zone, and 1 in the South East zone.

There is 1 new case reported in the South West zone -  in the South West subzone 1.

There are 2 cases with pending residence information.

One case with location pending was assigned to the North Central zone.

Fifteen Saskatchewan residents tested out of the province were added as follows - 6 to the Far North West zone, 1 to the Far North East zone, 4 to the North West zone, 2 to the Saskatoon zone, and 2 to the Central West zone.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 49,830, of which 376 are considered active.

There are 3 active cases in the South West zone - all in the South West subzone 1.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 41 (3.4 new cases per 100,000 population).

No new deaths were reported, leaving the provincial total number of COVID deaths at 578.

There were 51 recoveries reporting, bringing that provincial total to 48,876.

There are 43 people in the hospital. This is the lowest number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients since November 9, 2020. Thirty-four people are receiving inpatient care -1 in the Far North West zone, 2 in the North West zone, 4 in the North Central zone, 14 in the Saskatoon zone, 10 in the Regina zone, 2 in the South Central zone, and 1 in the South East zone.

There are 9 people in intensive care - 1 in the North Central zone, 5 in the Saskatoon zone, and 3 in the Regina zone.

To date, 957,184 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday there were 1,824 COVID-19 tests processed.

New lineage results were reported for 88 variants of concern.

Of the 8,050 variants of concern cases with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 7,041 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 573 are Delta (B.1.617.2), 426 are Gamma (P.1), and 10 are Beta (B.1.351).

An additional 4,562 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,394,825.

Of those 4,562 vaccine doses given, there were 76 administered in the South West zone.

Seventy-four percent of those 12 and over have received their first vaccine dose and 63% of those over 12 are fully vaccinated.
