In the June 23 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority there are 32 new cases of the virus reported in the province.

Of those 32 new cases there are 2 in the Far North West zone, 2 in the North West zone, 1 in the North Central zone, 1 in the North East zone, 10 in the Saskatoon zone, 3 in the Central East zone, 8 in the Regina zone, and 4 in the South East zone.

There are no new cases reported in the South West zone.

There is 1 new case with pending residence information.

One case was reassigned to the Far North East zone.

Two cases were Saskatchewan residents tested out of the province - 1 case was added to the Far North West zone, and 1 case was added to the North West zone.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 48,537, of which 607 are considered active.

There are 7 active cases in the South West zone - 1 in the South West subzone 1, and 6 in the South West subzone 2.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 61 (5 new cases per 100,000 population).

There are 64 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 47,365.

There is 1 new death in the 70-79 age group from the North West zone.

That brings the provincial total number of deaths to 565.

There are 75 people in the hospital. Sixty-three of them are receiving inpatient care - 1 in the Far North West zone, 7 in the North West zone, 9 in the North Central zone, 29 in the Saskatoon zone, 3 in the Central East zone, 11 in the Regina zone, and 3 in the South Central zone.

There are 12 people in intensive care - 1 in the North West zone, 2 in the North Central zone, 4 in the Saskatoon zone, and 5 in the Regina zone.

To date, 905,867 COVID-19 tests have been processed in the province.

And yesterday there were 1,807 COVID-19 tests processed.

As of June 22, there were a total of 12,020 variant of concern cases identified by screening in Saskatchewan - 299 in the Far North West zone, 1 in the Far North Central zone, 83 in the Far North East zone, 782 in the North West zone, 618 in the North Central zone, 79 in the North East zone, 2,089 in the Saskatoon zone, 145 in the Central West zone, 644 in the Central East zone, 4,782 in the Regina zone, 887 in the South Central zone, and 1,133 in the South East zone.

There were a total of 399 in the South West zone.

There is 1 new lineage result reported.

Of the 6,904 variants of concern with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in the province, 6,476 are Alpha(B.1.1.7), 293 are Gamma (P.1), 125 are Delta (B.1.617.2), and 10 are Beta (B.1.351).

An additional 18,423 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number administered to 1,023,698.

Of those 18,423 vaccine doses given, there were 628 administered in the South West zone.

Eighty per of those people over 40, 75% of those over 30, 70% of those over 18, and 69% of those over 12 have received their first vaccine dose.

Saskatchewan has received a Moderna shipment of 86,660 doses for the week of June 21.

Starting June 24, all Saskatchewan residents who have received their first dose of vaccine are now eligible to receive their second dose following a 28 day interval.

Anyone previously eligible based on age, and anyone who received their first dose on or before May 15 are now eligible for their second vaccine.
