In the October 9 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 22 new cases in the province.

Of those 22 new cases, there are 2 in the Far North East zone, 4 in the North Central zone, 5 in the Saskatoon zone, 3 in the Central West zone, 4 in the Central East zone, 2 in the Regina zone, and 2 in the South Central zone.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 2,034, of which 139 are considered active.

There are currently 3 active cases in the South West zone.

There are 26 more recoveries reported today, bringing that provincial total to 1,871.

There are 8 people in hospital. Six are receiving inpatient care-four in Saskatoon, one in Regina and one in the South West. Two people are in intensive care-one in Regina and one in Saskatoon.

There have been 24 deaths related to COVID-19 so far.

To date, there has been 209,560 COVID-19 tests done in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there were 2,330 COVID-19 tests done.
