In the Wednesday August 19 COVID-19 update, The Saskatchewan Health Authority is reporting a total of four new cases of the virus in the province.

The new cases include two in the North West, and two in the South West zones.

That brings the provincial total number of COVID-19 cases to 1,586. Of those, a total of 154 are considered active.

Investigations completed thus far have found that 104 of the 154 active cases are in communal living settings.

In the South West, there are a total of 46 active cases.

There are seven more recoveries reported today, bringing that provincial total to 1,410.

Seven people are in hospital. Three people are receiving inpatient care - two in the South West, and one in Saskatoon.

There are currently four people in intensive care, all in Saskatoon.

There have been 22 deaths related to COVID-19 reported to date.

To date, 125,181 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province.

And yesterday, 962 tests were performed in Saskatchewan.
