In the October 20 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 44 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 44 new cases, there is 2 in the Far North West zone, 1 in the Far North East zone, 3 in the North West zone, 5 in the North Central zone, 7 in the North East zone, 20 in the Saskatoon zone, 2 in the Central East zone, 3 in the Regina zone, and 1 in the South Central zone.

Public Health investigations are underway to determine the source of transmission for all new cases. Saskatoon's new cases continue to be primarily linked with outbreaks at local nightclubs.

One case with pending residence information was deemed an out of province resident and was removed from the counts. One case with pending residence information was assigned to the Far North East zone, One case was deemed to be an out of province resident and was removed from the counts. That case was previously assigned to the North Central zone, and One Saskatchewan resident was tested and confirmed out of province and assigned to the North West zone.

That brings the provincial number of COVID-19 cases to 2,439, of which 427 are considered active.

There are 2 active cases in the South West zone.

There were 14 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total number of recoveries to 1,987.

There are 18 people in hospital. Sixteen people are receiving inpatient care- 7 in the Saskatoon zone, 2 in the Regina zone, 6 in the North Central zone, and 1 in the Central East zone. There are currently 2 people in intensive care, 1 in Saskatoon, and 1 in Regina.

There have been 25 deaths related to COVID-19 reported so far.

To date, 235,530 COVID-19 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there were 2,513 tests done.
