In the November 5 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority, they are reporting a total of 129 new cases of the virus.

The Roy Romanow Provincial Laboratory experienced technical difficulties on Tuesday with the validation of COVID-19 tests, resulting in lower than expected case numbers reported on November 4. Following the validation of these samples, 9 positive results were identified. Due to the timing of the reporting of laboratory results, these 9 cases will be counted in the November 6 case numbers.

Of the 129 new cases, there are 6 in the Far North West zone, 1 in the Far North East zone, 10 in the North West zone, 30 in the North Central zone, 55 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central West zone, 4 in the Central East zone, 13 in the Regina zone, 1 in the South West zone, 2 in the South Central zone, and 1 in the South East zone.

The location information is pending for 5 new cases.

One case with pending location from November 3 was determined to be an out of province resident and has been removed from the Saskatchewan count.

That brings the provincial total number of COVID-19 cases to 3,536, of which 877 are considered active.

There are currently 2 active cases in the South West zone.

There have been 50 more recoveries today, bringing that provincial total to 2,634.

There are 32 people in hospital. Twenty-seven people are receiving inpatient care - 1 in the Far North West zone, 3 in the North West zone, 8 in the North Central zone, 10 in the Saskatoon zone, and 5 in the Regina zone. There are currently 5 people in intensive care - 1 in t he North Central zone, 3 in Saskatoon, and 1 in Regina.

There have been 25 deaths related to COVID-19 reported so far.

To date, 273,520 COVID-19 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there were 2,322 COVID-19 tests done.

In the weekly monitoring report for children and youth, ages 0 to  19 years, for the week of October 26 to November 1 there has been a total of 211 cases reported.

Of those cases there are 2 that have an unknown location.

There are 7 in the Far North West zone, 3 in the Far North East zone, 18 in the North West zone, 37 in the North Central zone, 13 in the North East zone,2 in the Central West zone 11 in the Central East zone, 64 in the Saskatoon zone, 46 in the Regina zone,  1 in the South Central zone, and 6 in the South East zone
