That, according to the President of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce.

Ralph Boychuk is confident that the numbers will be higher when the next Census population figures are released in five years time. Stats Canada is reporting Saskatchewan was one of only two provinces showing a loss in people in the five years prior to the spring of 2006.

Boychuk feels we’ve turned a corner since then.

He says business is strong in most areas of the province, and we’re seeing a lot more investment here indicating Saskatchewan is a province on the rise.

Boychuk adds there’s further proof of population numbers rising, rather than declining in the latest "Action Saskatchewan" report card. In January, it showed the province had recorded a second straight quarterly population gain after seven straight quarterly losses.
