Three Saskatchewan manufacturing companies could find big opportunities to help boost the provincial economy.

Saskatchewan-based Brandt Industries has taken advantage of the closure of Mitsubishi Hitachi in Saskatoon, and announced that it will buy the plant as they look to expand their operations in green-energy production, including wind turbines.

400 workers lost their jobs with the shutdown in the fall, and there are said to be indications that many will be re-hired.

In Yorkton, the Grain Millers Canada Corporation announced their intentions to expand their oat mill production in their plant.

After 20 years in Saskatchewan, the corporation feels that it a great location with Yorkton being in the "heart of oat country".

Initially, the $100 million project could boost contruction jobs, and upon completion, create 25 fulltime jobs at the facility.

And finally, the news this week of the approval of the Keystone Pipeline by US president Trump could mean an injection of activity for Evraz, out of Regina.
