The Herbert and District Integrated Health Facility opens today.

This marks the first week of operation for the new Herbert and District Integrated Health Facility, the result of $1.8 million worth of renovations on the Nursing Home.

Renovations spruced up the Nursing Home to accommodate 40 long-term care, six acute care beds and two multi-purpose beds.

Acting Mayor, Connie Redekop, says this one-stop center for healthcare will keep her town strong.

She adds that she would like to see the old hospital saved, but it would probably take investment from the private sector.

Cypress Health has offered to sell the old hospital to the town for a dollar, but Council has yet to decide on the matter.

During the move to the Integrated Health Facility, there will be no regular outpatient visits today or tomorrow.
