Recapping the provincial soccer runs for three southwest teams from over the weekend:

The Swift Current Comp Ardens had the best southwest finish, earning a co-bronze medal at 5A Girls Provincials in Saskatoon.

The Ardens defeated Regina Campbell 3-1 in the quarters, but lost a close 1-0 to Saskatoon Holy Cross in the semis.

The remainder of the tournament was canceled due to poor weather in Saskatoon, meaning no gold or bronze games could be played.

It's the fourth provincial medal in five years for the Ardens.

The Comp Colts soccer team, meanwhile, serving as 5A Boys hosts, earned their second-straight fourth-place finish at provincials.

It was a close 3-2 shootout win over Regina Miller in the quarters, but a tough 3-1 loss in the semis to Saskatoon St Joseph.

In the bronze, the Colts were blanked by Regina Campbell in a heartbreaking 1-0 result.

At 3A Boys 7-a-side provincials in Duck Lake, the Herbert Laurels finished in second place on the B-side of the bracket.

Herbert lost the quarters 5-1 to Waldheim, dropping them to the consolation side.

There, the Laurels shut out Pelican Lake 4-0, and then lost 4-1 to Stoughton in the consolation final for the sixth-place finish.
