A small batch of SaskPower customers will experience hours-long planned power outages today.

Pole replacements will be the cause behind both of the outages in Morse and Maple Creek area.

"It could be the poles are old," SaskPower's spokesperson Scott McGregor said. "It could be that maybe they were damaged in a storm but not enough to take them down. It could be that there was a collision, like if they're next to a roadway maybe there was a collision that wasn't serious enough to take them down but enough to damage them."

Thirty-one customers east of Maple Creek will be in the dark from 9 a.m. this morning until 12 p.m.

While 26 customers in Morse on Main Street and Brownlee Street will be without power from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
