Despite almost seven months since their league and provincial titles, the Kabos Bantam AA Broncos picked up the momentum from last season to start the 2017-18 season.

The Bantam AA Broncos kick-started the season with an 11-2 victory in Melville against the Millionaires on Saturday.

Swift Current's Cash Arntsen led all scorers with five points in the game (2 G, 3 A).

Noah Wills (3 G, 1 A), Kalan Lind (4 A), Hayden Wilm (3 G), Joe Arntsen (1 G, 2 A), Rhys O'Neill (1 G, 1 A), Ryan McCleary (2 A), and Keagon Little (2 A) all contributed multi-point efforts.

Brady Wilson scored a goal, and Rylan Silzer added an assist, to round out the ten Broncos to find the stat sheet in the game.

Justin Dueck recorded the win in net for Swift Current.

Game two in Balgonie on Sunday saw more of a thrilling outcome, as the Bantam AA Broncos edged the Prairie Storm Extreme Hockey Lightning 6-5 in overtime.

Hayden Wilm, who is also an AP for the Home Hardware Midget AAA Legionnaires, beat Prairie Storm Extreme goaltender CJ Hesje in the extra frame to keep Swift Current undefeated on the season.

Wilm's OT-winner was his second goal in the game and his team-leading fifth of the season.

Once again, Dueck was victorious between the pipes for the Broncos.

The Bantam AA Broncos leading scorer through their first weekend is Joe Arntsen whose three-point Saturday was followed up by a four-point Sunday (1 G, 3 A).

The Kabos Bantam AA Broncos are back on the road this weekend for a game in Yorkton on October 7 against the Xerox Terriers, and October 8 in the provincial capital against the Regina Pat Blues.
