It’s back to the bargaining table.

Mediation talks resume today between Viterra and the Grain Services Union.

Strike action hit Viterra’s operations in the southwest this week.  Yesterday, a picket line was set up at the Viterra Grain Terminal in Swift Current, while picket lines were set up on Tuesday in Shaunavon and Moose Jaw.

Viterra says they have an excellent contingency plan in place that will keep their operations running smoothly.  A company spokesperson says they are serving their farm customers in the southwest and there have been no interruptions to services.  The spokesperson adds that the majority of employees at the Swift Current facility are at work, and their customers are being served.
