Annual autumn fundraiser has community at its core
A dedicated volunteer club that has been serving the southwest for over a century is set up around Swift Current with their annual apple drive once again. Today marks the first day of sales for the general public, with volunteer booths set up at both the Wheatland Mall Co-op and Safeway. Art Stenson, chair of the Kiwanis Club of Swift Current's fall fundraiser, said they've been sending out pre-sale orders to businesses around the city. "We have [McIntosh] and Galas available again this year," he added. "A box of either is $35, half a box is $20, and a bag is $10." All funds raised from selling the delicious fruit go right back to the community. Head to the malls before 6 p.m. to grab the perfect autumn ingredient for breakfasts, dinners, and desserts.
