The Tarpon Energy Atom AA Broncos were successful in their quest for gold over the weekend at the George Watson Atom A Classic in Regina.

The Atom Broncos went 2-0-1 in the round robin.

They piled on the Prince Albert Phantoms 13-2 in their opener, before drawing 5-5 with the Saskatoon Flyer Fire the next game.

Swift Current then doubled up the Regina Royals 6-3 ahead of playoffs.

Into the quarter-finals, the Atom Broncos executed a comfortable 5-1 win over Estevan, setting up a revenge game in the semis.

Facing the Yorkton Terriers, a team Swift has failed to beat in three regular-season games so far, the Atom Broncos locked them down in a 2-0 shutout win.

Daxer Schroeder and Mason Fauser notched goals in the win, while Griffin Darby picked up the lone assist. Tate Leshures earned the shutout in net.

That set up a battle with the Saskatoon Redwing Thunder for Gold.

Four first-period goals aided the Atom Broncos to pull away early, coming away with an 8-5 win.

Schroeder nabbed a hat-trick, Fauser scored twice, while Kasey Gleim, Carter Moen, and Kadyn Olfert all added singles.

Levi Wills chipped in with three assists as well, with another win in net for Leshures.

Swift is back to league play at home this weekend, hosting the Estevan Bruins.
