The Swift Current 57's once again put their power on display en route to their fourth straight win to start the 2017 WMBL season.

Just 24 hours after crushing Melville 13-1, the 57's went into Yorkton for their first road game of the season and hammered the Cardinals 13-5.

Despite the lopsided score, the game was a lot closer than it may appear.

The Cardinals were first to get on the board.

Getting the start on the mound for Swift Current, Fernando Pena surrendered a home-run on his tenth pitch of the game.

Dondrei Hubbard took Pena deep in the bottom of the 1st to put Yorkton up 1-0.

In the 2nd, the Cardinals added another run to their lead, going up 2-0.

Pena would go on to only survive 2.2 innings, giving up three runs (two earned), on two hits and two walks.

In the top of the 3rd though, Swift Current was able to get rolling with a two-out rally.

After the 57's worked back-to-back walks to start the inning, Riley Campbell lined out to short-stop and Cole Thibideau was doubled-off at second base.

Swift Current was able to keep the pressure on though, despite the two quick outs.

Following two more walks to load the bases, Brett Esau hit the second grand slam for the 57's in as many nights, to go from down two to up two.

Keil Krumwiede later hit a two-RBI double to cap off a 6 run 3rd inning for Swift Current.

Despite entering the game 0-3, Yorkton would not go away.

The Cardinals scored a run in the 3rd and 4th innings to trim the 57's lead to 6-4.

In the 6th inning, Yorkton provided a serious threat to Swift Current's lead.

With one run already in and the 57's advantage down to 6-5, the Cardinals had the bases loaded with no one out.

Backed into a corner, Aidan Goodall managed to escape.

After throwing three straight balls to Parker Smejkal and no where to put him, Goodall got Smejkal to pop out to second on the 3-0 pitch.

One pitch later it appeared Goodall was going to register the second out of the inning without the runner scoring from third, however, Riley Campbell and Mason Brown ran into each other on a foul pop-up and dropped the ball with Campbell getting tagged with an E5.

Goodall picked up his third baseman though and went on to strike-out Jake Davidson for the second out.

The Nanaimo, BC product then completed the magic act on the next pitch getting Caden Rosholt to pop-up to Brown.

From that point on, the Swift Current offence made sure they were going to get the better of the Cardinals.

Cole Thibideau and Blake Adams both hit home-runs in the last two innings of the game, as the 57's added seven insurance runs for a 13-5 lead, which they would go on to win by.

With the victory, Swift Current improved to 4-0 to start the 2017 campaign.

Garrett Goodall picked up the win on the mound for the 57's, going 1.1 innings in relief.

The entire 57's bullpen combined to go 6.1 innings, allowing only two runs.

Of note, with his 3 RBI, Blake Adams took over the league lead with 10.

Next up, the 57's will be a battle of two undefeated teams.

They will welcome the Lethbridge Bulls (4-0) to Mitchell Field on Wednesday.
