Tristin Langan proved again why he is one of the top players in the WHL this season scoring twice and adding an assist as Moose Jaw came from behind twice to beat Swift Current 4-3 in overtime.

The overage forward was a force all game and scored the winner midway through an overtime power play as Swift Current and Moose Jaw split a home-and-home coming out of the Christmas break.

"Tonight there were some pretty angry guys coming in that room," said Broncos assistant coach Scott Dutertre. "We thought we had that game... I thought we worked hard in certain situations... there's going to be obstacles and you have to work around them."

Swift Current got ahead early on a couple goals from the line of Ethan Regnier, Alec Zawatsky and Carter Chorney. Alex Moar and Chorney made two quick passes to set Regnier up in the slot and he ripped his 6th of the season over Adam Evanoff's blocker.

Regnier again factored in a few minutes later when he won a puck in the corner of the offensive zone and sent it back to the point where Ben King's shot led to a rebound goal for Zawatsky.

"It was a good start," Regnier said. "We came out strong today and it just slipped away from us a little."

Moose Jaw then answered with two timely goals. Daemon Hunt beat Joel Hofer with a wide open shot late in the first period and Justin Almeida knocked in a rebound in the first minute of the second period to tie the game.

"We came out pretty good off the start," Dutertre said. "We had really good jump. As the game went along they got the bus legs out of their system. We worked hard, but there were some times there we had some break downs and a couple of those penalties that we took ended up hurting us in the end."

Matthew Culling gave Swift Current their lead back as he converted a blocked Matthew Stanley shot. Culling now has goals in five of his last six games.

Langan tied the game right back up scoring his 25th of the season on a great shot in the later stages of the second period.

Neither team could find a goal in the third period before Langan won it on an overtime power play. That was the first goal for the Warriors in nine power play chances over two games against Swift Current.

The Broncos went 0 for 5 on their man advantage after not having a power play last night. Zawatsky did hit a post early in the third period on their best look of the night.

"We never had a power play last night so they had the opportunity to knock the rust off," Dutertre noted. "For the first couple we were just trying to get our units back to get our composure again. Once they settled down they started to move the puck a little better."

Joona Kiviniemi was back in the lineup after a late flight delayed his return yesterday. He had his three game goal scoring streak snapped despite Garrett Sambrook sending him in for a great chance in the third period on a partial break.

The young guys are playing well for the Broncos lately including Culling's recent run and 18-year-old Regnier's eight points in his last nine games.

"We've developed lots," Regnier said. "Lots of guys have stepped up into bigger roles... getting opportunities is always good."

Hofer was very good again in the Swift Current net making 35 saves including glove stops on Danill Stepanov and Keenan Taphorn that could qualify as 'Save of the Year' candidates. Evanoff made 24 saves in a winning cause for Moose Jaw.

The Broncos now play a home-and-home with Saskatoon starting on Sunday afternoon at 4pm in Swift Current.
