In the December 2 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 238 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 238 new cases there are 6 in the Far North West zone, 3 in the Far North Central zone, 16 in the Far North East zone, 17 in the North West zone, 25 in the North Central zone, 3 in the North East zone, 109 in the Saskatoon zone, 4 in the Central East zone, and 36 in the Regina zone.

There are 8 new cases in the South West zone, 1 in t he South Central zone, and 3 in the South East zone.

There are 7 new cases that have pending residence information.

Five chases with pending residence information were assigned as follows: 1 to the Far North East zone, 1 to the North Central zone, 2 to the Regina zone, and 1 to the South East zone. One case previously assigned to the Saskatoon zone was removed from the counts.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 274 (22.6 new cases per 100,000 population).

That brings the provincial total number of COVID-19 cases to 8,982, of which 3,970 are considered active.

There are currently 121 active cases in the South West zone.

Two residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. There was one person in the 80+ age category in the North zone, and one person in the 60-79 age category in the Regina zone.

That brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the province to 53.

There were 84 more recoveries today, bringing that provincial total to 4,959.

There are 132 people in hospital. One hundred and six people are receiving inpatient care - 1 in the Far North West zone, 7 in the North West zone, 7 in the North Central zone, 1 in the North East zone, 42 in the Saskatoon zone,2 in the Central East zone, and 23 in the Regina zone.

There are currently 2 in the South West receiving inpatient care, 1 in the South Central zone, and 20 in the South East zone.

There are 26 people in intensive care - 5 in the North Central zone, 12 in Saskatoon, and 9 in Regina.

To date there has been a total of 350,391 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there were 2,473 COVID-19 tests processed.
