Despite the cooler weather on Monday evening, the Swift Current community came together for a howling good time at the annual Pooch Plunge held at Fairview Pool.

The event provided furry friends the opportunity to take a dip in the pool while raising 70 dollars for the Swift Current SPCA.

Meghan Chisholm, the Aquatic Manager for the City of Swift Current, elaborated on how the event went this year.

"Even with the cooler weather, we saw some of our fur friends enjoying swimming at the Fairview pool at our annual Pooch Plunge,” she stated.

The event saw a turnout of ten enthusiastic dogs, each with their own priorities.

“Some were more eager to jump and play fetch in the water, some needed a little bit more coaxing to get on in,” she explained.

The Pooch Plunge has become a beloved tradition in Swift Current, as a fun way to wrap up the pool season and as a means to give back to the community.

“It's a local charity,” Chisholm noted. “We're supporting local, and what better way to raise money for something within our community?”

The Aquatic Centre opens for the season at 8:00 a.m. this morning.
