After the 2020 JUNO Awards broadcast in Saskatoon had to be cancelled back in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had to wait a bit to celebrate Canadian music's biggest night.
On Monday night, this year's winners were announced in an online event and it was a big night for Alessia Cara who won three JUNOS including Album of the Year presented by Music Canada (The Pains of Growing), Shawn Mendes took home two awards including Single of the Year for "Senorita" with Camila Cabello, and the legendary Bryan Adams won for Adult Contemporary Album of the Year (Shine a Light) to earn his 17th JUNO Award win, putting him at third all-time for most JUNOS won behind Celine Dion and Anne Murray.
The Dead South was the lone Saskatchewan winner, taking home the JUNO Award for Traditional Roots Album of the Year, but Shaunavon's Hunter Brothers made the southwest proud after they were nominated for Country Album of the Year and Breakthrough Group of the Year sponsored by FACTOR, the Government of Canada, and Canada's Private Radio Broadcasters.
