A Swift Current woman is facing eight additional charges including forcible confinement stemming from an incident earlier this week.

Police arrested three people Tuesday afternoon on Central Avenue and charged two of them with kidnapping.

Originally, Kristen Morgan only faced one charge of trafficking.

She is now also charged with assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, mischief, conspiring to commit a robbery, robbery, robbery with a firearm and two counts of extortion.

Judge Karl Bazin denied Morgan's bail due to concerns of public safety.

Judge Bazin also stated a release would bring the administration of justice into disrepute.

Morgan remains in custody and will appear by video link in Swift Current Provincial Court again on May 17 at 10:30 a.m.

Chad Whyte and Matthew Shiloff of Assiniboia are also facing nine charges including kidnapping.

Judge Bazin ordered that Morgan have no contact with Whyte and Shiloff.
