It was a back-and-forth affair for the first six innings last night at Mitchell Field, but the Swift Current 57s came away on the losing end of a 10-6 game to the Melville Millionaires.

After a 14-5 win on Monday, the 57s couldn't complete the sweep in the two-game set on Tuesday.

The game kicked off with a three-run frame in the top of the first for the Millionaires.

Swift would answer back in the home half of the second inning with a four-run effort. Runs came courtesy of a Spencer Rankin RBI single to drive in Alex Orenczuk, a Cade Burdett RBI double to bring home Jered Binsfield, a Melville balk to plate Rankin, and an infield error to score Burdett.

Melville bounced back in the fifth with another three-run inning, and would comfortably extend the gap in the seventh with four more runs to take the 10-4 lead.

Anthony Stewart (pictured below) scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh, and scored again in the ninth on an error, but the 57s could wake the bats up to duplicate Monday's output. Swift was out-hit 14-6 in the game.

Starter Tommy Steier (below) lasted 4-1/3 innings, giving up six runs on eight hits, while punching out four batters.

Nick Hooper was charged with the loss, giving up two hits over 2/3 of an inning.

The 57s (1-4) won't have to wait long for an opportunity to get back into the win column. They host the undefeated Moose Jaw Miller Express (5-0), who downed Swift 7-1 on Friday.

First pitch is 7:05 p.m. at Mitchell Field.
