The Eastend Cemetery Board has announced that they now have a Columbarium and two benches installed.

The Town of Eastend purchased the work from Nelson Granite at SUMA, and once the work is paid, the Cemetery Board will receive the remainder for upkeep at the Cemetery.

Val Bidaux is on the Cemetery Board. She commented on why they installed the Columbarium. "Well, we just thought it would give people options. And there has been becoming more of a demand for people requesting a place to put ashes of their loved ones."

Total cost of the Columbarium and benches is approximately $16,000.

Bidaux says they are continuing the upkeep at their Cemetery by cleaning up the trees and doing some gopher control. Sam Gordon also donated a new sign.
