A Familiar Pest Returns

With the warmer temperatures comes the mosquitoes.

The Town of Shaunavon is busy battling mosquitoes and the threat of West Nile Virus.

Town crews have recently applied the Larvicide Vectobac to areas of standing water in and around Shaunavon. There has also been an aerial application of the larvicide west of the lagoon.

Town Administrator Charmaine Bernath says there will be no fogging for mosquitoes this year.

Town crews will continue to monitor mosquito breeding areas, she says, and will apply the larvicide as necessary to control populations.
