In their daily COVID-19 update today, The Saskatchewan Health Authority is reporting 15 new cases of the virus in the province.

The new cases are connected to an outbreak that has been declared in two Hutterite communities in the Rural Municipality of Maple Creek. Two members of a rural household in the area initially tested positive for COVID-19 last week. Contact tracing is underway.

Cases are being investigated for connection to inter-provincial travel to Alberta, as well as travel in the area.

The remaining new case is in the Far North Region.

This brings the provincial total to 708, with fourteen of the new cases in the South Region. That provincial total also includes two out of province residents who tested positive in Saskatchewan reported on June 15.

Of those 708 reported COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan, 59 are considered active.

Three more recoveries were reported today, bringing the total of provincial recoveries to 636.

Two people are in hospital-one in inpatient care in Saskatoon, and the other in intensive care in Saskatoon.

To date, 57,836 COVID -19 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan.
