The ice littered with teddy bears after the Broncos' initial goal.

16 minutes into the "Teddy Bear Toss" game between the Swift Current Broncos and Kamploops Blazers, Adam Lowry got the goal everyone was looking for.

Lowry put home a rebound from Erik Fleming's shot  causing a launch of teddy bears, toques, and mitts onto the ice all in support of the local Salvation Army. The Broncos would fall to the Blazers 5-4 despite outshooting Kamloops 36 to 30.

After coming back from down 3-1 to beat Kelowna on Friday, the Broncos were in the same position again midway through the second period against the Blazers. For the second consecutive game they turned to Captain Taylor Vaus. As he did against Kelowna, Vause scored twice to tie the game at 3.

The tie wouldn't last as the Blazers pulled ahead on a JC Lipon power play goal early in the third period.

Tim Bozon scored his second of the game to give Kamloops some insurance on a controversial play. Brady Gaudet used his stick to knock Ryon Moser off the puck in the Broncos zone and Bozon took advantage of the turn over to extend his team's lead.

The Broncos didn't quit despite another two goal deficit. They pulled to within one with a power play goal by Coda Gordon and had several chances to tie in the final minutes. Blazers goaltender Cole Cheveldave stoned Lowry in the slot with 4 seconds to play in the third period.  The loss snapped the Broncos' three game win streak but extended the Kamloops winning streak to eight.

After a one win, one loss weekend Swift Current is tied for 9th in the WHL's Eastern Conference, only three points out of a playoff spot. The Broncos travel to Cranbrook on Friday to take on the Kootenay Ice.
