The Swift Current Broncos home opener is getting underway at the InnovationPlex.

To celebrate the start of the WHL season at home, the Broncos are hosting a huge tailgate party, with food, drinks, and live music by Jesse Genns.

Folks can head over to the rink, where the tailgate party is happening at the curling facilities.

Extending the invitation for the beginning of what he claims will be an awesome season is Kevin Simpson, the executive vice president of the business operations for the Swift Current Broncos.

"We're hosting a pregame tailgate party from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today," said Simpson. "We've got a BBQ going on, a kids zone, and some of our players are going to be doing some autograph signings over there. We've got a lot of beverage tasting through our corporate partners as well."

Folks can walk in through the south side entrance, where they can make their way to the curling rink doors. There, a sign-in table will accept entrance fees. Once inside, tables and chairs are open for whoever can grab them.

The game is set to begin tonight at 7 p.m., with live play-by-play on the Eagle 94.1, pre-game starting at 6:45 p.m.

"It's been a long summer for everybody," remarked Simpson. "I think our staff worked extremely hard to put on a big event for everybody here tonight, and we're just looking forward to getting all the fans in the building tonight and getting off to a good start from the home opener."
