It didn't start the way the Broncos wanted.  But it ended just fine.

Moose Jaw's Jagger Firkus potted the game's first goal 1:15 into the first period; stuffing a Riley Krane rebound past Isaac Poulter.

The Broncos would answer back a few minutes later, however.  The tying goal would come off a tic-tac-toe passing play as Eric Houk would hammer it home on Warriors goalie Brett Mirwald.

A two-on-one rush two minutes later netted Jordan Borysiuk his first as a Bronco giving Swift Current the lead midway through the first and Caleb Wyrostok would add an insurance marker a minute later.

The first period would end with the Broncos firmly in control in the shots department, pouring 17 onto Mirwald and holding the Warriors to 8.

Penalty troubles would allow the Warriors to climb back into the game early in the second frame.  Hunt would score on a five-on-three in the second minute to cut the lead to one goal.  Moose Jaw would add a short-handed marker midway through the frame to tie the game at 4 apiece and added a second power-play goal to take a 5-4 lead late into the second.

Owen Pickering would score his first WHL goal with just 20 seconds left in the period to pull the Broncos back even as the second period expired.

The third period would be all about the Broncos as they would add two goals and an empty netter for the 8-5 win.

The Broncos have a night off and are back in action Saturday night against the 3-5-1-1 Prince Albert Raiders.  Swift Current will be looking to replicate their first win of the season, as they previously beat up on the Raiders on March 22 with a final score of 5-2.

That game gets underway at 8:00 p.m. on Living Sky Casinon Broncos Hockey live on the Eagle 94.1 FM.
