This year's annual Community Christmas Dinner put on by the City and Salvation Army is going to look a little different due to the pandemic.

Chris Keleher is one of the organizers and details the changes occuring this year.

"The biggest change for this year is that it's not going to be an in person meal. It's going to be a takeout or delivery option so this year it is going to be on Christmas Eve. What we are going to do is in the early afternoon, we are going to be delivering food to folks that requested and we also have a takeout option as well."

Keleher adds that local agencies involved with the dinner will be reaching out to families they work with to see if meals are required.

Due to the changes this year registration is required according to Keleher.

"They do need to register, so what they can do is call City Hall and then what we will do is disperse and talk with our committee and come up with the number of meals to deliver. Our number at City Hall is 306-778-2787."

In addition Keleher says they are still looking for volunteers to help out with food preparation and deliveries on the 23rd and 24th and anyone interested can call City Hall.

Despite the changes this year, Keleher says they are greatful to still be able to host the meal and give those in need something to look forward to.
