293 food hampers were collected this year for needy families in Swift Current

Another good year for food and toy donations for our local Salvation Army as they look to help local families again this Christmas.

293 food and over 75 toy hampers will be distributed this year thanks in part to local businesses and residents over the last several weeks since the annual collection campaign began.

"The community's support in this way is really the community helping the community", says Captain Michael Ramsay from the Swift Current Salvation Army. "The money raised throughout the campaign and kettles goes not only helping families through Christmas, but also throughout the year."

"Swift Current is such an amazing community to do this ministry in. Everybody pulls together and can help makes somebody's Christmas a lot more meaningful," adds Ramsay.

The hampers are set to be distributed throughout the coming days.
