The 20th annual Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History is set for Sunday, May 26, in Swift Current and 39 other cities across the country to support the thousands of Canadians living with Cystic Fibrosis and help them access life-saving treatments.

The walk has been well-supported locally over the years with walkers raising over $11,000 at last year’s event.

“The Kinsmen and Kinettes help us, the local families and extra walkers and friends... it is a wonderful day that we enjoy,” said event chairperson Yvonne Laviolette. “Come out, have a few laughs, do a little walking and enjoy some food.”

The walk starts at 9:00 a.m. from Riverside Park and goes north along the Chinook Pathway. Laviolette says the in-person registration begins at 8:00 a.m., but you can register for the walk online and take part from wherever you are on Sunday.

“Walk, run, roll... join us virtually, whatever works for you,” she added.

Walkers are welcome to stay after they return to Riverside Park for a free barbecue lunch and a chance to win some prizes.
