Winless in five, the Swift Current Broncos have shown moments of resilience, especially in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Prince Albert Raiders.

Entering the afternoon against a team on a 3 game skid; and one that they had beaten previously (5-2 on March 22), It was an opportunity for the Broncos to shake off the 6 - 2 pounding handed to them on Friday by the Moose Jaw Warriors.

A chance to build some confidence as they've seemingly struggled to push back late in games against teams that have taken advantage of that.

On Sunday they did just that; matching the Raiders step for step in a scoreless game until late in the second period, when Michael Horon would finally solve Broncos tender, Reid Dyck, jumping on an Eric Pearce rebound.

Heading into the third period down by one, the Broncos got some of the pushback they have been looking for, tying it up 6 minutes into the frame on a power-play tic-tac-toe one-timer to Cole Nagy who put in his third of the season.

Three minutes later, the Raiders would take the lead again, this time on a power play, and follow that up with the game-winning goal three minutes after that.

Despite being down 3-1, Swift Current would push back again. Mathew Ward would cut into the lead off a turnover behind the Raiders net, making it 3-2 with 6 minutes left in the game.

But with Dyck on the bench in favour of the extra attacker, Pearce would tap in the empty netter to give Prince Albert the 4-2 victory.

The wild affair saw a slew of penalties on both sides; 10 for Prince Albert and 9 for Swift Current, including a pair of five-minute majors following a first-period scrap between Eric Houk and Reece Vitelli, and another in the third between Cole Nagy and Justin Nachbaur. The Raider's Nachbaur would also receive misconduct and unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.

Each team ended the evening with 24 minutes in sin-bin time, as well as off-setting penalty shots in the second period.

Next up for the Swift Current Broncos, they face Saskatoon on Wednesday after a two-day rest.
