We have reached the semi-finals of Magic 97's Holiday Song Showdown and we are just days away from finding out which Christmas song is the most popular in the southwest.
Today's semifinal matchup will pit not only two of the biggest Christmas songs in the last 65 years, but the most popular in the last three weeks. Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" took over the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 on Monday from Brenda Lee's "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree", which held that #1 spot for two weeks earlier this month, and both songs will face each other for a spot in the final!
Wednesday's matchup will see an all-time classic face this year's Cinderella story. Bing Crosby's "White Christmas" from 1942's Holiday Inn will battle Faith Hill's "Where Are You Christmas?" from 2000's How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Faith had knocked off classics from Elton John and Nat King Cole to reach the semifinal and is looking to take down another timeless classic to punch her ticket to Thursday's final.
