SaskAbilities has created a free training resource for persons experiencing disabilities to help break down barriers of employment — and they premiered the video series last night at the Living Sky Casino.

Job Skills for Success has an interactive component to it as well as 20 short videos of ‘what not to do’ and ‘what to do’ to find and maintain employment.

Kim Furey with SaskAbilities was in attendance for last night’s event, and shared that the resource will be available on their website as of April 1, for anyone interested.

“If you're not tapping into the people experiencing disability, you're missing out on a huge pool of talented employees that could really benefit your business,” she said. “Making an adaptation for somebody experiencing a disability doesn't have to be a huge renovation. It can be as simple as a piece of technology or software.”

The series is a province-wide initiative, and special viewings were also shown in Saskatoon, Yorkton and Regina.
