Saskatchewan has expanded COVID-19 testing around the province.

People who are working or returning to work can now be tested for COVID-19 if they choose.

That has increased the number of phone call to Healthline 8-1-1.

Doctor Saqib Shahab is the Saskatchewan Chief Medical Health Officer. He said, "I think from what I've seen there's more calls going to 8-1-1, there's increasing testing, but I think it will certainly be interesting in seeing how the trend holds out through out the province, and testing through out the province, and further analysis of what are the symptoms that people are going for, or what are the reasons people are going for."

Premier Scott Moe added, "And these are individuals that fall into those new criteria that are driving a significant amount of that increased testing across the province. Just to remind folks that it's all through 8-1-1 but also through family physicians and nurse practitioners."

Testing is now available to anyone currently working outside the home and anyone returning to work as part of the Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan.
