On Saturday, Morse RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision that resulted in the death of 70-year-old-male from Dauphin, Manitoba.

The collision occurred at around 12:35 a.m. on the Trans Canada Highway #1 and the Morse Access road when a 4-door sedan collided with a semi-trailer unit.

The 70-year-old was the lone occupant of the car and was confirmed deceased at the scene.

Neither the semi driver or the passenger in the semi was injured.

The investigation is currently ongoing with assistance from RCMP Traffic Reconstructionist and the Office of the Provincial Coroner.

Traffic on Highway #1 was restricted for several hours, but the highway is now fully re-opened.
