Four days packed full of southwest heritage and culture begins this morning with the official burning of the brand in Market Square.
The annual W.W. Smith Pancake Breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. includes the ceremony to commence Frontier Days 2024.
Chris Martens, vice-chair for the Swift Current Ag & Ex, is excited for the next several busy days of fun.
"The burning of the brand is the biggest way we traditionally kick off Frontier Days," he said. "There'll be a lot of other entertainment that will be taking place throughout the days, including tons of free family entertainment on the grounds."
The first event is the heavy horse competition at 10 a.m. in the Magnus Newland Arena. A highlight of today will be the SaskTel Kiddie's Day Parade leaving from Memorial Park at 4 p.m., the same time that the gates open to the public for the Westcoast Amusement Midway rides.
