The Swift Current 57's could not hold off the Fort McMurray Giants bats in the final frame of tonight's game falling 5-2.
Fort McMurray plated all five of their runs in the top of the ninth inning at Mitchell Field in front of 231 fans to erase a 2-0 deficit to defeat the 57's.
Giants shortstop Manny Alberto went 4-for-5 at the plate and produced the biggest hit of the evening with a three-run double in the ninth. Third baseman Darcy Barry hit a solo home run a few batters later.
Swift Current scored one run each in the fourth and seventh innings.
57's pitcher Adam Korte threw four and two-thirds scoreless innings only allowing two hits.
The 1-1 57's will host the Giants again tomorrow night at Mitchell Field.
