Gloria Armstrong, age 92, of Swift Current, SK passed away peacefully on Monday, June 10, 2024 with her family by her side at Clover House in Swift Current. Gloria Grace Armstong was born November 29, 1931 on the homestead near Hanley, SK to Norm and Elsie Beaumont, where she grew up on the farm with her three siblings. Gloria moved to Saskatoon to attend post-secondary studies. Gloria married Gord Armstrong, the love of her life in 1952.  Once her children were in school, she worked in the school system as a secretary and library technician.

She was highly active throughout her life. At a young age, she played baseball and participated in track and field. Throughout her adult life she enjoyed golfing, especially with the ladies Elmwood group. She was a big fan of local sports and cheering on the Broncos as a long-time season ticket holder. When you stopped by her house there was always fresh baking and coffee ready. She treasured visits with friends and family around the table. She was known for her famous apple pies and cinnamon buns.

Gloria enjoyed traveling many places throughout her life. Highlights would include going to Arizona and Parksville, BC in the winter and spending the summer travelling to Loon Lake, SK to spend time with family.  Gloria was a beautiful person inside and out. She had a big heart and an even bigger laugh. She was always willing to help out anyone in need and she saw the humor in everything. She cared so deeply for the people around her. She made an impact on many lives. Gloria loved her family dearly. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life and her relationships with her siblings were cherished. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, colleague and friend. She will truly be missed and will never be forgotten.

Gloria is survived by her son, Dale Armstrong; her daughter Brenda (Steve) Cassidy; grandchildren Desiree (Mike) Armstrong, Christi Armstrong, Gordie (Corie) Armstrong, Jennifer (Tyler) Speir and Brady (Bonnie) Cassidy; her seven great grandchildren Brody, Talan, & Miller Horner, Corbin Armstrong, Blake & Carter Speir, and Ella Cassidy; her brother Allan (Eleanor) Beaumont; her sister-in-law Dorothy Armstrong; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Gloria is predeceased by her husband Gordon Armstrong; son Brian Armstrong; her parents Norm and Elsie Beaumont; sister Eileen (Vic) Lehne; her brother Wes (Fern) Beaumont; parents-in-law John & Adeline Armstrong; her brothers in law Elmer Armstrong, Robert (Marie) Armstrong, and Floyd (Lila) Armstrong, and by her sister-in-law Evelyn (Jack) Evans.

A graveside service for Gloria Armstrong will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, on Friday June 28, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Annette Taylor officiating.
