The Clarendon Hotel in the Town of Gull Lake was heavily damaged early Sunday morning by a fire.

The fire started at approximately 8:02 a.m.

The owner of the hotel is currently out of town, and nobody was suspected to be in the building at the time of the blaze.

Blake Campbell, Mayor of Gull Lake is asking for his communities help.

"Right now we would ask all of our residents if they could refrain from showering or using any outdoor watering or anything like that. Conserve what you can just because of the amount of water that it's taking to get the fire under control, our water plant is needing people to cut back any unnecessary water at home," he said Sunday morning.

The hotel was a heritage property.
