A consistent attack helped break through the Saskatchewan Bantam 'AA' Hockey League's best defensive team Wednesday night at the Fairview Arenas.

Playing game one of their best of three South Division semi-final, the Kabos Bantam 'AA' Broncos doubled up the visiting Regina Monarchs 6-3.

The Monarchs entered the game having given up a league best 58 goals over the 30 game regular season, and just one goal in their first round series win over the Regina Pat Blues, however, Swift Current took full advantage of their early opportunities.

Although only able to manage six shots in the opening frame, the Broncos managed to put three of those past Regina goalie Jared Thompson.

Rhett Evjen got it all started for Swift Current just 36 seconds into the contest, however, the Monarchs quickly responded exactly 36 seconds late to tie the game 1-1.

As the opening frame near the midway point, Broncos regular season scoring leader Reed Jacobson got them the lead back.

The 5'8" forward found the back of the net at the 12:30 mark, giving Swift Current a 2-1 lead.

Then, when Regina's Logen Hammett was called for a hit to the head, the Broncos took full advantage to extend their lead.

Riley Dekowny was able to jump on a loose puck in the crease and jam it home for a 3-1 Swift Current advantage.

Carrying their 3-1 lead into the second, the Broncos saw it shrink back down to one with 8:09 remaining in the frame.

However, just when it appeared the game made head into the second intermission with Swift Current leading 3-2, Regina was called for their second penalty of the game.

Already one for one on the power-play, the Broncos once again took full advantage.

With 1:18 left to go in the second, Keagon Little beat Thompson for his first goal of a playoffs and a 4-2 Swift Current edge heading into the final twenty minutes.

In the third period, it was Jacobson again, continuing what he had done all season, giving the Broncos some breathing room.

Jacobson found the back of the net early in the third for his second goal of the contest, while extending Swift Current's lead to 5-2.

Dekowny would also go on to net his second goal of the game in the late stages for a 6-2 advantage, before the Monarchs rounded out the scoring with just one second left in the game.

In the end, Broncos goalie Jacob Herman turned aside 26 of the 29 shots he faced in earning the win.

Holding a 1-0 series lead, Swift Current will now look to punch their ticket to the South Division final Friday night when they head to Regina.

If necessary, game three will be played Sunday in Swift Current.
