The Swift Current Home Hardware U18 AAA Legionnaires lost in regulation for the first time since October 29 as they fell 3-2 to the Battlefords Stars on Sunday at InnovationPlex.

Kade Stringer had both Legionnaires goals, opening the scoring with 6:26 left in the first period before Ryan Taylor equalized with 91 seconds left in the frame. Austin Shepherd and Kaden Veller then scored in the second to put the Stars up 3-1 before Stringer scored with 1:58 left in the period to cut Swift Current's deficit to 3-2, which would be the final tally after a scoreless third period.

Eric Hoiness, Campbell Pinsonneault, Wesley Olson and Zach Reeder had assists on Stringer's goals and Berney Weston made 13 saves as the Legionnaires outshot the Stars 44-18.

The Legionnaires (17-4-0-1) will host the Moose Jaw WINMAR Warriors on Thursday at 8:00pm in a rescheduled game from one postponed earlier in the season.
