The Swift Current Home Hardware U18 AAA Legionnaires wrapped up the regular season with a 4-2 loss to the Regina Pat Canadians at InnovationPlex on Tuesday night.

Cam Perlinger, Cobe Perlinger, Parker Rondeau and Berney Weston returned to the lineup after a silver medal finish with Saskatchewan at the Canada Winter Games. Cam opened the scoring for the Legionnaires on the power play midway through the first period, but Rhett Platt, Koen Senft and Casey Brown tallied as Regina scored three unanswered goals to take a 3-1 lead early in the second period. Hudson Darby cut the Legionnaires' deficit to 3-2 in the middle frame, but Steven Steranka wrapped up the scoring for the Pat-C's in the third period. Weston made 36 saves as Regina outshot Swift Current 40-16.

The Legionnaires finish fourth in the SMAAAHL standings with a 25-15-0-4 record and will face the fifth-place Warman Wildcats in the first round of the playoffs. Game one of the best-of-five series is on Friday night at InnovationPlex.

Wingert scores, Fischer stops 36 as Saskatchewan falls to Quebec

At the Canada Winter Games, Innovation Credit Union Wildcats forward Ella Wingert scored, and goalie Paige Fischer made 36 saves as Saskatchewan’s female hockey team fell 4-2 to Quebec on Tuesday. Caitlyn Perlinger, Sadie Keller and Jerzey Watteyne are also in the lineup for Saskatchewan (0-2) who take on New Brunswick in their last preliminary game in Prince Edward Island this afternoon.
