The Home Hardware Legionnaires are in Saskatoon to take on the league-leading Blazers tonight as they head into the home stretch of the SMAAAHL regular season.

Swift Current (25-12-3) sits in a tie for fourth place in the league standings with the Prince Albert Mintos and are five points back of the third-place Warman Wildcats with four games to play and two games in hand.

The Legionnaires will play the Blazers again on Thursday afternoon and then return home to wrap up the regular season against the Estevan Bears on Saturday and Sunday at Innovationplex.

In local AA hockey, the SWT U13 Broncos host the Moose Jaw Warriors tonight at 6:30pm from S3 Arenas.

Saskatchewan hits three-game slide at Scotties

After starting the event 3-0, Skylar Ackerman and Team Saskatchewan are suddenly in must-win territory at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Calgary. 

Saskatchewan fell 11-6 to Kerri Einarson and Team Canada in their only game of the day on Tuesday afternoon to drop to a 3-3 record and into fifth place in Pool A, with the top three in each pool advancing to playoffs.

The Ackerman rink will play their last two round-robin games against Newfoundland and Labrador this morning and Corryn Brown and Team BC tonight. The playoffs start on Friday.

Canucks hit three-game slide after loss to Avs

Ryan Johansen had two goals as the Colorado Avalanche beat the Vancouver Canucks 3-1 in Tuesday's NHL action. JT Miller had the lone goal for the league-leading Canucks, who have dropped three straight games for the first time this season.

Meanwhile, Gabriel Valardi had two goals and an assist to help the Winnipeg Jets to a 6-3 win over the Minnesota Wild. Kyle Connor added a goal and two helpers for the Jets, who stopped the Wild's six-game point streak with the victory.

Also, Anton Lundell had the overtime winner to lift the Florida Panthers past the Ottawa Senators 3-2 and into first place in the NHL's Eastern Conference standings, one point ahead of the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers.

There are five games in the NHL tonight including the Edmonton Oilers hosting Boston, Montreal welcoming Buffalo and the Arizona Coyotes hosting the Toronto Maple Leafs.

In the WHL Tuesday night, Prince George beat Seattle 5-1 and Spokane beat Wenatchee 6-4. Two more games today have the Moose Jaw Warriors visiting Lethbridge and Edmonton hosting Calgary for the Oil Kings' traditional "hockey hooky" game at Rogers Place in the afternoon. The Swift Current Broncos return to action on Friday against Medicine Hat.
