The Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires head to Wilcox to face the Notre Dame Hounds in U18 AAA hockey action tonight.

The Legionnaires are looking to end a two-game losing streak after dropping back-to-back contests against the Regina Pat Canadians. Swift Current (22-11-3) is fourth in the league standings, two points back of the third-place Warman Wildcats.

Leafs have win streak snapped against Islanders

Pierre Engvall scored the game-winner late in the third period to lift the New York Islanders to a 3-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs as NHL action resumed after the All-Star break on Monday.

Mathew Barzal and Kyle McLean also scored for the Islanders, who snapped a three-game losing streak while ending the Leafs' three-game winning streak.

The only other game on Monday had the New York Rangers beating the Colorado Avalanche 2-1 in overtime. Alexis Lafreniere scored the OT winner for the Metropolitan Division leaders.

Eight games are on the schedule tonight including the Edmonton Oilers looking to win their 17th straight game and match the all-time longest winning streak set by the 1992-93 Pittsburgh Penguins when they visit the Vegas Golden Knights. Elsewhere, Calgary visits Boston, Washington hosts Montreal, the Jets visit the Penguins, and Vancouver heads to Carolina.

Raptors routed by Pelicans for third-straight loss

Brandon Ingram scored 41 points and CJ McCollum added 20 as the New Orleans Pelicans beat the reeling Toronto Raptors 138-100 on Monday night. Rookie Gradey Dick scored 22 points and Scottie Barnes had 17 for the Raptors, who have lost three straight games and eight of their last nine.
